Headquartered in New York, Seedco Financial also maintains offices in Alabama, Colorado, Louisiana, and Tennessee. We tailor our capitalization and technical assistance to the specific needs of each site. Therefore, each site has a unique combination of activities, which may be focused geographically or may be industry-specific.
In Alabama, Seedco Financial focuses on small business lending and affordable housing development. While much of the activity is in the Birmingham-Tuscaloosa area, efforts have also begun in Selma, Montgomery, Tuskegee and the surrounding rural areas, and most recently, the Huntsville area. Seedco Financial especially targets minority- and women-owned businesses in Alabama.
In Denver, Seedco Financial provides affordable financing and technical assistance to small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and major commercial projects in low-income and economically distressed communities. Target communities include: Lincoln Park, Sun Valley, Villa Park, West Colfax, Five Points, Clayton, and Montbello.
In Louisiana, Seedco Financial has offices in three communities: New Orleans, Rural Southeast Louisiana, and Baton Rouge. In New Orleans our program areas are: arts/culture and restaurants/food services; in Southeast Louisiana we target our lending and technical assistance to the seafood industry and fisheries; and in Baton Rouge we lend to small businesses, targeting minority- and women-owned businesses.
In New York, Seedco Financial works with local partners to provided financial resources and technical assistance to small businesses in the five boroughs. Targeted neighborhoods include Lower and Upper Manhattan and select low-income communities in the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn. Sectoral initiatives include ArtBusiness, Energy Conservation and the Human Services Loan Fund.
In Tennessee, previous investments include New Markets Tax Credit transactions and housing development loans in underserved communities in Memphis.
