Seedco Financial in New York City seeks to apply our financial and business assistance resources to revitalize underserved communities. We offer a robust array of services to small businesses and not-for-profit organizations throughout the city’s five boroughs.
Among its varied resources, Seedco Financial offers loans, technical assistance, and networking opportunities. We help many small minority- and women-owned businesses in Lower and Upper Manhattan and select communities in the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island.
Results in the Region
Our loans and other services have made a significant difference for many businesses and organizations. Bronx-based Down East Seafood, a 42-employee wholesale distributor of seafood, participated in Seedco Financial’s expanded loan and business assistance program. “We’ve turned the corner with the help of Seedco Financial, and we thank them very, very much,” said Down East Seafood owner Edward Taylor.
Following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Seedco Financial responded to the plight of small businesses in Lower Manhattan. With encouragement from public and private sectors, Seedco Financial and our partners crafted a suite of services that distributed more than $34 million in loans and grants and helped retain more than 6,000 jobs.
Both the innovative assistance package we offered and the efficiency in providing services created a blueprint for future work.
